Gamma Overdrive - PCB Kit
The GAMMA is a completely new, never-been-done-before, 4-transistor overdrive circuit. It does not employ diodes or transistor saturation to produce clipping, but rather transistor cutoff. Based on my 1995 "gamma" patent, it employs a differential pair at its core, supported by a pre-gain buffer and DC servo. Clipping is clean and smooth, almost tube-like. By turning down input DRIVE, you can also use it as a high-gain clean boost. An auto-LED circuit flashes in proportion to signal.
The PCB kit includes a blank circuit board and most of the parts that solder to it (plus wire, feet, and a label). You will need to separately purchase the remaining components (enclosure, foot-switch, LED, jacks, pots, knobs). Parts list is included in manual below.
- True bypass
- 29dB maximum gain
- 20mV input, onset of clipping
